Your new and improved local bus service is here!
We let you know earlier in the year that this local service was under threat as it was not commercially viable for the service operator. We consulted with residents who used the service and made the decision to fund the continuation of the service from our Parish Council budget based on their feedback and the fact it is such a valued service for our community.
We are now delighted to announce the launch of Route 740 bus service. This was formerly route number 74.
Why a change to the route number? Our new operating service provider, Basingstoke Community Transport were required to change the number under current pubic transport regulations.

In July, Overton Parish Council Chair Anne Phillips and Councillor John Raw signed a four year contract with Basingstoke Community Transport
The service is for all the community with pick-up and drops-off at the usual stops, plus you can hail and ride – just put your hand out along the route if you’d like to get on!
