Volunteers are improving the paths around Overton

We really appreciate the volunteers who put their time and effort in to making it more of a pleasure to walk around our village.

Volunteers from the Village Tidy Group – a working party of Overton Parish Council – and Overton Walking Group have cleared the footpath between Berrydown Recreation Ground and Straight Lane, making it safer and cleaner to walk on. This is just one of a number of projects these teams have been working on to improve our environment.

The image above shows our volunteers busy at work on the pavement and road edge. Below you can see an example of how the pavement was before work started and after all the mud and overgrowth had gone, leaving the path beautifully clean to safely walk on once more. A huge thanks to all for your effort and time. We appreciate what you are doing to make Overton a better place to live.

The Overton Village Tidy Group meets once a month at St Luke’s Hall – on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 2pm .

If you are interested in volunteering, and want to learn more about these groups or other projects that you may be interested in working on, please do get in touch with the Clerk.
